Dr. Víctor López recognized at the 1st LA VERDAD–Pascual Parrilla Health Awards

The 1st LA VERDAD–Pascual Parrilla Health Awards have recognized five professionals in Murcia for their excellence and contribution to the healthcare field. Among the award winners is Dr. Víctor López, specialist in general and digestive system surgery and a member of the medical team at Hospital IMED Virgen de la Fuensanta. This first edition was created with the aim of highlighting commitment to healthcare, clinical research and health resource management.

This distinction represents recognition of the career of a highly specialized professional, with extensive dedication to hepatobiliary-pancreatic and transplant surgery. His professional profile highlights his experience at Hospital Clínico Universitario Virgen de la Arrixaca since 2012, as well as training placements at leading centres in Japan, Zurich, New York, Barcelona and Chicago, a path that reinforces his clinical and research profile. Dr. López joined the IMED Virgen de la Fuensanta project after its opening at the end of 2024.

At IMED Virgen de la Fuensanta, Dr. Víctor López is part of the Hepatobiliary-Pancreatic Unit within a General and Digestive System Surgery Unit that the hospital itself describes as one of the most comprehensive and extensive in the centre. This external recognition highlights IMED’s incorporation of medical professionals with a high level of specialization and a solid clinical and scientific background.

Dr. López’s professional CV also reflects outstanding research activity, as well as participation in international consensus documents, scientific societies and multiple academic and professional recognitions.

Alongside Dr. Víctor López, this first edition of the awards also honoured Santiago Moreno, Laura Martínez Alarcón, Maribel Sánchez López and Francisco Agulló, in a ceremony that has highlighted five outstanding careers within the healthcare sector in the Region of Murcia and across the country.
