IMED Hospitales has reached a key milestone in its digital transformation strategy by obtaining the National Security Scheme (ENS) certification at its highest level. This achievement reinforces our position as a benchmark in data protection and regulatory compliance.

This accreditation, regulated by the National Cryptologic Centre (CCN), part of the Spanish National Intelligence Centre (CNI), establishes the requirements and controls that guarantee the protection of information systems. Holding the ENS certification at the high level means complying with the most demanding security standards, ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability of data, while offering full confidence to clients and institutions regarding regulatory compliance and resilience against cyber-threats.

In a context where digital security is essential for trust and operational continuity, this certification demonstrates that IMED Hospitales applies best practices in risk management, access control, encryption, monitoring and incident response. It also guarantees that our clients and partners operate in a secure environment aligned with Spanish and European regulations.

With this milestone, IMED Hospitales reinforces its commitment to excellence, innovation and patient trust, further consolidating its role as a healthcare benchmark in the Region of Murcia and the Valencian Community.

According to ENS requirements, the certification process includes phases such as defining the information security policy, identifying and categorising services, performing a GAP analysis, drafting the statement of applicability and implementing a continuous improvement plan. In the healthcare sector—where highly sensitive data is handled—this effort is essential to protect information and strengthen patient trust.

“This achievement is a guarantee for our patients, professionals and collaborators,” says Juan Noguera, IT Director at IMED Hospitales. “We have succeeded in aligning technology, processes and digital culture to ensure a reliable, innovative and secure environment. Ultimately, protecting information is also a way of caring for the patient.”

For IMED Hospitales, ENS certification brings tangible benefits:

• It strengthens information security governance, making data protection a strategic pillar of the care model.

• It reinforces transparency with patients and insurers, demonstrating a real commitment to digital security.

Obtaining this certification adds to other milestones achieved by IMED Hospitales in digitalisation, comprehensive care, quality and patient experience. The organisation thanks all teams who have worked collaboratively to reach this milestone. Thanks to their efforts, we can now offer a service that complies at the highest level with legal and technical requirements, ensuring data protection at all times.
